A tall, slender man who appeared about 23 years in age was directing Gabriella to her dorm. He was very quiet, speaking only the words that needed saying, and Gabriella didn't try to start a conversation. He was simply her tour guide, and just because he was of the opposite sex did not make Gabi act any different around him. In fact, she could care less whether he was human or ape, as long as he got her where she needed to be. The tour had been interesting, and it had been a relief for her, so that she would not have to be late to classes in the morning trying to find her way around the campus. The tour ended with him leaving her in the Oak Dorm, giving her the key to room number five, and with a small smile, followed by a nod, the man waved and disappeared.
Gabriella fit the key with little difficulty into the lock, and twisted it around, pulling open the door to her dorm room, and entering with her suitcase behind her, along with her kitten, Chester asleep in his crate. Surprisingly, most of her things were fit nicely in the room, and a note on her bed created by her mother said that they'd dropped by earlier and cleaned up her dorm. Rolling her eyes, reality said that they had just tried to clean out her room at home so they could change it into something that would suit their needs. Well, what can you expect, with money comes greed, and her parents were full of it.
She found that there was another bed in the room, and figured that she would soon find herself with a roommate. Hopefully she wouldn't be an asshole and Gabriella could find herself with a teensy bit of luck for once. She took out her clothes, placing them neatly in her dresser, making sure everything was in it's correct place. Sitting criss cross on her bed, she opened the crate and released Chester, who yawned and slowly emerged, checking out his new surroundings and sniffing around the room. Once his inspection was complete, the young abyssinian settled down in Gabi's lap and fell into sleep almost immediately. Laughing, Gabi spoke allowed to herself. "Lazy thing, you are, Chester. I was gonna get some drawing done, but I can't get to my pad without waking you!" Though her voice was gentle and meant to be a tease, it was true that she'd planned to get some drawing done. Ah well, she didn't have the heart to wake up his peaceful soul. So without another word, she continued stroking his soft fur, and waiting patiently to see if her new roommate would come about.
