Ashley had never felt more alone. It was Tuesday! Ashley's face was drooping. Cindy had loved Tuesdays. Ashley Jenkins rarely cried. But right now she was about to. She remembered it all.
"Can we please go now Ash?" "Yeah Cindy, sure. Get in the car." Horns honked, traffic noises were louder than usual. "Um...Ash?" "Yes Cindy?" "Why is that truck going so fast?" "WHAT? Hold on to something Cindy! That stupid Ford is gunna hit us broadside!" A squeal of tires, the smash of metal. A siren as the ambulance arrived a half hour later. "Are you okay miss?" "I'm fine! All I have is this scratch and some bruises. Get my sister out!" "Someone else is in the car? We're on it!" Metal scraping against metal. "We found her!" Rushed breathing. "Is she okay?" "A-ashley?" "Cindy! You're bleeding! All over the place!" "Um...Miss?" "What's happening? What's wrong with my sister?" "Ash? I don't feel good..." "No! You doctor people, help her!" "Miss, we can't. She's to far gone." "NO!"
And then she cried. Pushing back the flood of tears, the university student thought about her ten year old sister. If only she could bring her back.

Vince walked along the park, his hands stuffed into his pockets. A lot of things ran through his mind, his sister, his good for nothing father, and life in general. He lost his train of thought when he heard what he thought was someone crying. He turned and saw a girl crying. "Are you okay?" he asked slowly approaching her.

Ashley looked up quickly. She hadn't heard his approach. Quickly she wiped her eyes and tried to smile. Yes, I'm fine. Her casual tone wasn't very convincing. She rubbed her temples and sighed. If Cindy was there she'd be pestering Ashley about how cute the guy was, when Ashley really could care less. She almost laughed when she thought of her sisters many crushes. But, that was then. She jerked herself back into reality and concentrated on the subject at hand.
